A ilha faz parte parte da cidade de Kherson. Os moradores foram retirados de barco e também com um caminhão militar.
Como foi preciso fugir rapidamente, eles tiveram que deixar os cachorros para trás. Os animais latiram ao ver seus donos irem embora.
